Stargate Atlantis Season 5 Episode 7 : Whispers

Spoilers:

Basically this episode is about a bunch of freaky mutants have been left in an abandoned lab in the forest by Michael and our intrepid Atlantis crew must investiagate and kick some butt to escape in one piece.

For a minute there I thought I was watching a completely different show. I starts with a bunch of hot chicks exploring an underground lab including the awesome Nicole De Boer and none of our regular heroes.

But of course, Sheppard turns up and takes charge and the awesome Paul McGillion joins him as the cloned Dr Beckett who has returned to Atlantis briefly only to be dragged off world for this episode.

This episode was reminiscent of one of those Japanese horror films, the bad guys had awesome prosthetics and in one shot you see one of them moving up the inside of a well in a really freaky sped up fashion.

We don't actually get to see Connor Trinneer in this episode as Michael but I think this is going to lead up to something more.

Great episode, it is definitely cliché but still entertaining for the fun and scariness of it.

Cant wait for the next one!

It's funny, not a lot of people liked this Episode...I thought it was one of their best ones. It was around a 7 on the horror scale, mainly because of the anxiousness of not knowing who or how many of the all-women Team would die in this Episode.

Had Atlantis gone past Season 5, I really think that they might have explored crossing over these Team's characters more often (they were naturals). Hell, they had their own versions of Ronan, Carson, Sheppard, and Teyla.

That episode was one of the worst SGAs I've seen! The acting was bad, most of the female characters were stereotypes of what it is to be tough, and the storyline wasn't credible. Why did they stick around? Since it wasn't going to get better if they waited until daybreak, they should have just left. Plus all the times they split up from each other. And if these creatures had such a heightened sense of hearing, you're telling me they couldn't hear Beckett breathing? And that the sound of gunshuts in a cave wouldn't have sent them running in the other direction - out of sheer pain if nothing else?

The only positive quality of this episode was the visuals; there was definitely an interesting "feel" to this one. Too bad everything else was horrible!
