I was sitting in my office the other day dealing with a job for a teenager ( no names to protect the innocent ) and she remarked upon my collection of Battlestar Galactica posters which proudly adorn my office walls (see poster link to the left), we talked for a moment about it and then she spotted my Star Trek 2009 poster on another wall and should "cool!, Star Trek too!"I was so chuffed and it was incredibly refreshing to see that there is still hope out there for us.
I kinda figured that Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica and to be honest, Sci Fi in general had simply not been an appealing genre to today's youth. ( I am only 30 though ) and that most of them would only be interested in whatever fad or trend which happened to be passing by at the time. Seeing such an interested reaction to sci fi from a kid made me think that maybe, just maybe there are a whole generation out there who may actually have some intelligence and creativity within them after all.
Cynicism be gone!
