Battlestar Galactica 'Deadlock' Mini Review

Hi everyone, I thought this episode was a filler. I hope that this means that they are saving up some money and time to do a massive finale with the other episodes to come, however for the most part, I can understand why a lot of people were describing this as 'Battlestar Galactica 90210'.
There was an interesting point in this episode however that some of my friends missed, did you?

- The scene in the sick bay had a moment when Saul looked back at Ellen in an adoring way and at that very moment the baby flat-lined. Saul said, 'no, wait, that was me!' as if confirming that his wavering love is what allowed the baby to die. Very similar theme to the Fifth Element if you ask me.

Battlestar Galactica 'No Exit' Review.

well, well, well. We, the colony of Cylons who inhabit this very earth have finally discovered a few revelations about the origin of the Cylons and the final five.
'No Exit' for me was an incredible episode and not just for it revelatory story but for the incredible performance of Dean Stockwell. This was easily his best episode to date and we discover a very believable motive for his hatred of humans, the final five and contempt for his own flesh and blood human cocoon. (His description of once seeing a Super Nova with his 'primitive gelatinous spheres' is amazing)
Ellen Tigh is brilliant, her explanation of how things came to be is a thread that weaves throughout the entire episode while at the same time, Anders is explaining to, Saul, Galen and Tori something he remembers due to his injury, their origin on earth and the story of how they came to join the fleet and why they believed they were human.
Soon, Ellen with the aid of a number 8 'boomer' will return to the fleet with no doubt more revelations. This episode crammed a great deal of information into its 45 minutes and I wish it had been longer. There were reports a few months ago of how the last Battlestar episodes would be longer.
The sub plot of this episode is interesting too, the Mighty Battlestar Galactica is showing her age and starting to crumble. Tyrol explains to Admiral Adama that huge cracks are appearing within her superstructure and there is only one way to fix it. They must use a special organic resin that they can get aboard the crippled 'friendly' Cylon basestar. This resin will strengthen the Galactica. Adama's initially refuses to allow Cylon technology on his ship, but a few whiskeys later, Adama calls Tyrol and orders him to do whatever is necessary to 'fix their girl'.8/10

Johnathan Frakes on the New Star Trek Movie...

TrekMovie: I understand you visited JJ’s Star Trek set, how did that happen?- Frakes: JJ uses my favorite first [assistant director], Tommy Gormley. Tommy and I had breakfast and he said "come over to the set, JJ wants to meet you." So I went to the bridge and there was Mr. Abrams and this beautiful, incredible set.
- TrekMovie: Was there a little big of budget envy when you were there?
- Frakes: I will have to go with an affirmative on that.
- TrekMovie: So what are your thoughts on this new take? Have you seen the trailer?

Battlestar Galactica is for Geeks ?

After having watched the last few episodes of Battlestar Galactica, I am at my 'wits end' to understand why so many people blanket label myself and other fans of the show as mere 'geeks'.Lost, Greys Anatomy, Crossing Jordan or any other drama on TV are followed by a myriad of people who will go into work the next day and talk, talk, talk, all about the latest episode they have just seen and that's fine by me.
However, when myself and my colleagues start talking about the latest episode of 'Battlestar Galactica', anyone who overhears us, give us nothing but odd looks and the odd statement of 'jeez, what a bunch of geeks!'
I think this is a cross that many science fiction fans must bear and in defence of science fiction fans everywhere I am going to go out on a limb here and declare that...'In general, science fiction fans are much more intelligent than non-sci fi fans'.....
There, I said it, I went there and I don't care.
I am fed up with people tarring our favourite genre with the same brush over and over and over. My god, having just watched the last episode of BSG tonight, I simply cannot understand why I would want to waste my time watching any of those other 'normal' shows.
In the last 45 mins of Battlestar 'blood on the scales' I just watched the most amazing acting by Mary McDonnell and Edward James Olmos. I saw some of my favourite characters executed by firing squad for treason. I saw a tense military standoff and an intricate political themed drama weaved all the way through it.Is this geeky TV for Christ's sake?
Long live Sci Fi, Long Live Intelligent People! Death to the Normals! ;-)

New Footage has been revealed in the new Star Trek TV Spot.
Although the new trailer is much shorter than the other "new" one, it does reveal more tantalising tit-bits:
See the Screen Caps Below for Details.
Bruce Greenwood (Captain Pike) talking to him afterward
with some of the lines used in the narration of trailer 2.
Airborne Traffic depart San Fancisco
Leonard McCoy and Kirk in a shuttle introducing
each other while Kirk swigs on a hipflask
The Enterprise firing its phasers (In classic Trek film fashion)
The massive Romulan weapon fires on San Francisco
Starfleet officers and cadets come running out to see whats going on.
Kirk gets ready to Jump.
Kirk and 2 others jump out of a craft in a
high altitude freefall toward the Romulan Weapon
Cant Wait!

Stargate Atlantis Finale

So its all over, for now.
Although Stargate Atlantis has run its course, the series will apparently live on in the next incarnation of the successful Stargate Franchise called Stargate Universe.
The Final episode of Stargate Atlantis for me was not as weepy or action packed as I had hoped, but nonethless was still a fantastic episode and interestingly it was a direct follow on from the previous episode which seemed like a single non aligned arc story at the time...
Looking forward to Stargate "Universe" with my countryman Robert Carlisle, ( hope he keeps his scottish accent in it!)
